Back in area today with clearance to access the PCDC area found this one to be in good condition

The Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company mooring pier is a restricted area. Access was not available at this time.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1981 IN CONNEAUT. IN CONNEAUT, AT THE PITTSBURG AND CONNEAUT DOCK COMPANY, ON THE WEST SIDE OF CONNEAUT HARBOR, THE MARK IS IN THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE MOORING PIER OF DOCK NUMBER 1, 65.22 METERS (214.0 FEET) SOUTH OF LIFE PRESERVER STATION NUMBER 20 ALONG THE CONCRETE MOORING PIER OF THE HARBOR, 12.13 METERS (39.8 FEET) EAST OF THE EAST RAIL OF THE TRACKS PARALLELING THE PIER AND 12.50 METERS (41.0 FEET) SOUTH OF THE SOUTH END OF THE ELEVATED WALKWAY OF THE MOORING PIER OF THE HARBOR. NOTE--NO STAMPING. THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH TOP OF CONCRETE PIER.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
