We stopped to find an archived cache that GSAK has missed and almost tripped over this one. Were looking for the cache and Ladybug says isn't that a benchmark? DOH!

Right near cache.

spotted this while doing the reserve cache. got to take the easy ones when you can. big guys eagle eyes.

My 3 year old popped the lid and checked out this benchmark while I signed the reserve cache log.

1st time finding a benchmark! Actually stopped to take a look at the nice boundary marker and stumbled upon it. The area looks good, benchmark is behind the marker.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
