My favorite [red]bird[/red] and I flew south for the day and had a blast engaging in all of our favorite things - benchmarks being one of them! We drove all the way up to this one which meant [red]Tina[/red] busted a quick U-turn so we could move on to the next. This spire is in fine shape and marks benchmark #4 of 7 for the day.

Ike had the perfect day planned for us over a week ago but I got sick. Today we got to see this plan come to life after the Belly Lauging Day event with a couple good caches, 7 benchmarks, 30+ trackables, the standard shenanigans, steak and shniz 5 ways, and a trip down memory lane. This is cool to see that this one is a benchmark! We drive past this all the time, plus our friends got married here in 2004! It really is a beautiful church, inside and out.

I grew up in "the hills" so I saw this all the time. The CCH police had their picnic behind the church one time. There's an old cemetary behind it. My mom says there are civil war vets buried there.

This is a beatiful church, one of the oldest buildings in the area, which used to be called Coopers Grove.

The GPS coordinates (NAD83) were taken directly in front of and between the entrance doors with a Magellan GPS-315. The landmark is 708 ft above mean sea level with an estimated position error of +/-13 feet.

01/01/1959 by CGS (FIRST OBSERVED)
DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1959 (RWE) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 2 MILES WEST OF HOMEWOOD, 0.6 MILE EAST OF STATE HIGHWAY 50 AND IS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF 183RD STREET. THE STATION IS A GRAY SPIRE LOCATED ON THE NORTH END OF A LARGE GRAY STONE CHURCH. THE POINT INTERSECTED WAS THE CROSS ON TOP OF SPIRE. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 50 AND 183RD STREET, GO EAST ON 183 RD STREET FOR 0.6 MILE TO THE STATION ON RIGHT AS DESCRIBED.
