Saw it while looking for another mark in the area. I forgot to take a closer picture, but I got in in the background of a more distant photo.

You can barely see the tower about 2/3 of the way to the right of the photo.

My favorite [red]bird[/red] and I flew south for the day and had a blast engaging in all of our favorite things - benchmarks being one of them! We drove right past this one on our way from a benchmark in Homewood to a two-fer benchmark spot in Frankfort. This was benchmark #5 of 7 for the day.

Ike had the perfect day planned for us over a week ago but I got sick. Today we got to see this plan come to life after the Belly Lauging Day event with a couple good caches, 7 benchmarks, 30+ trackables, the standard shenanigans, steak and shniz 5 ways, and a trip down memory lane. Isn't she the best, oh and [b][red]TanksFTBM

Observed while traveling through the area.
Photo to come.

Yeah a benchmark

Found with Razor1965

I've seen this one several times a week for over 20 years.

Spotted on our way to the "hummingbird".

Spotted this from the nearby Texas Roadhouse eating spot. We have been by here for 30 years back when LaGrange road was a 2-lane country route to Kankakee.

Discovered (from a distance) with lemon16 on our way back from exchanging our modem at Comcast.

found it

I had to settle with spotting it from .5 miles away, but I took a picture on this grim and gray day anyways. Later in the day while on the way to Lockport I drove past the tower once again.

Not the best day to take a pic of this tower from a distance, but it's still there. Pic was taken from the frontage road in the area of the SXU caches.

This has been a local landmark for a long time. Lots of teenage parties, out by the WLS tower, before the area got so developed.
