My first benchmark!

Been a long time since I've done a Benchmark. Needed one for a challenge I'm working on. The wife and I went to the nearby Starbucks and walked over and found this quickly.

Out finding benchmarks and caches to complete a challenge.

Found this benchmark on the way home from a 100 cache day with Baloo.

This is the first benchmark that we have searched for. Pretty neat to find it and looking forward to finding others.

Found it after nearby "The Park in Front of the Spire." I like the geocache-benchmark twofer! How often is a cache located so near a benchmark?

This one was an easy find located very near to our micro "Park in Front of the Spire", (GCMRAH).

NIce easy walk from the nearby Swan Song cache. At least we were able to find this one easily. Still in good shape, just like Krazy Cachers picture. First BM to find for 2004!

Found it and took a picture

Found it right out in front!

Found this one at night with WISearchers and Socko at the end of a 23 cache day! Neat area!

Found in good order.

Beautiful day, easy find!

Found as stated. Nice home for a benchmark, better that most areas surrounding BMs. Like the others, I found this after Swan Song.

Literally 6 hops and 2 or 3 jumps from Swan Song. Easily located.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
