It was located as described, with the following additions: the culvert is still at this location; this mark is located at Milepost 27.15 of Wyoming Highway 70; and, due to road re-alignment, this mark is now 46 feet southeast of the centerline of the highway.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1934 12.1 MI E FROM SLATER, CO. IN CARBON COUNTY, WYOMING, 12.1 MILES EAST ALONG THE ENCAMPMENT ROAD FROM SLATER, MOFFAT COUNTY, COLORADO, 4.1 MILES EAST OF THE BOUNDARY LINE OF THE MEDICINE BOW NATIONAL FOREST, ABOUT 800 FEET SOUTH OF A TRAIL CROSSING, ON A LARGE SUMMIT, ON THE OUTSIDE OF AN ABRUPT CURVE, 122 FEET NORTHEAST OF A CORRUGATED-IRON CULVERT, AND 24 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED C 74 1934 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
