Saw this benchmark while walking around the city.

Together with Dingo79 I found this benchmark :-)

Together with Miela78 I had a really interesting journey. We could even find some geocaches and benchmarks like this one.
Concerning this benchmark we had much fun in finding which was not so difficult ;-) The benchmark made our journey even more interesting and with its help we had the chance to discover the surroundings in a more interesting way!

Found while walking the Freedom Trail.

Found it.

Found while doing the Freedom Trail. Still there.

We found this benchmark while on our way to attend Geowoodstock. A bit novel for us as we dont have benchmarking in Australia. We love Boston and its history :)

Thanks for showing

The story behind the grasshopper was interesting. Appears to be in fine shape.

This is a very welcome alternative when
most of the caches are below a lot of snow.
Unfortunately nothing similar in Germany
existing. It's a pity.

Seen and admired on a cold, dry December day while visiting from Oregon. First stop after the airport was a quick bite to eat at Fannuil Hall. Fortunately, my family is willing to tolerate my odd hobby. Have seen the grasshopper before, but was not aware of benchmarks or geocaching then. Now that I am, I love these things. The grasshopper's just plain cool, too.

Found that one on my trip to the US.

First find within the first hour of setting foot in Boston. Yay!

Our first benchmark on our GO 4-H Eastern Seaboard Tour! As soon as we saw the grasshopper on top of Faneuil Hall, well we thought that it was kind of neat that the weathervane was a grasshopper. Then we had to look it up. There is some interesting history behind it. Apparently it was sent to the wrong building at first and then when they found out what had happened they sent it back to Faneuil Hall, this took several months. Kind of funny!

Found on a lovely day to have lunch outside in the middle of Boston!

My grandparents took me to Boston today to observe this beautiful city and all its historical American heritage. I saw and learned a lot. I can now see why we have a lot to be thankful for because of what our ancestors gave to this country for our freedom. They pointed out the various benchmarks to me so that I can also log them.

We took our granddaughter to Boston for the day to show her the sights and history associated with this beautiful city. Also pointed out the different benchmarks that are to be found here. Didn't have a digital camera with us to document it.

Finally getting around to logging this one.

I'm not sure why this was made a benchmark, as most are tall structures like steeples, radio masts, or stacks. You would have to be prtty close to see this little guy, as he is nearly surrounded by the office towers of the Financial District, and cupulas in this marketplace are more prominent. Nevertheless, here he is, and I'll log him.
