Together with Dingo79 I found this benchmark :-)

Together with Miela78 I had a really interesting journey. We could even find some geocaches and benchmarks like this one.
Concerning this benchmark we had much fun in finding which was not so difficult ;-) The benchmark made our journey even more interesting and with its help we had the chance to discover the surroundings in a more interesting way!

I'm so excited about finally finding benchmarks!

As we were walking the Freedom Trail, it became kind of a joke how many pictures I took of this tower since it's visible from so many places. Turns out none of the pictures were worth sharing, though.

Found it.

This might be my only benchmark visit on this trip.

We found this benchmark while on our way to attend Geowoodstock. A bit novel for us as we dont have benchmarking in Australia. We love Boston :)

Visiting from Oregon and loving the benchmarks that I can view without having to navigate and coordinate my family. They can show passing interest and I can enjoy my hobby. Good to be back in Boston and actually claim some of these benchmarks, as last time I was here, I was woefully unaware of what benchmarks were!

Found that one on my trip to the US.

It was a beautiful tower late this afternoon, with a bit of sunlight still catching the top of it. I snapped this picture as Bigrock95 and I walked towards it to search for the tidal station disk also located there.

Courtesy of Wikipedia: "The Custom House Tower--now Marriott's Custom House Hotel--is a skyscraper in McKinley Square, in the Financial District neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Construction began in the mid-19th century; the tower was added in the 1910s. Standing at 496 feet (151 m) tall, the tower is currently Boston's 17th-tallest building. The tower is part of the Custom House District, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973."

incredible tower

My grandparents took me to Boston today to observe this beautiful city and all its historical American heritage. I saw and learned a lot. I can now see why we have a lot to be thankful for because of what our ancestors gave to this country for our freedom. They pointed out the various benchmarks to me so that I can also log them.

We took our granddaughter to Boston for the day to show her the sights and history associated with this beautiful city. Also pointed out the different benchmarks that are to be found here. Didn't have a digital camera with us to document it.

In the city to celebrate my 50th birthday! oldbicycle

On my way to some training yesterday morning, I thought I would try to locate this one. It is hard to miss from almost any place downtown. I am happy to report it is still standing. The falcons that live up top I am sure are happy about that. Sorry, no working digital camera so no picture today.
