DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1942 0.4 MI S FROM HOMER. 0.4 MILE SOUTH ALONG THE ERIE-LACKAWANNA RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT HOMER, CORTLAND COUNTY, 300 FEET SOUTH OF MILEPOST 237, AT THE CROSSING OF CENTER STREET, 58.5 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF THE CROSSING, 40.5 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE STREET, 25 FEET WEST OF THE WEST RAIL OF THE WEST MAIN TRACK, 2 FEET EAST OF THE RIGHT-OF-WAY FENCE, 3 FEET NORTH OF A WHITE WOODEN WITNESS POST, 1 FOOT HIGHER THAN THE STREET, AND LEVEL WITH THE TRACK. A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED Y 109 1935 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.4 FOOT ABOVE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
