DESCRIBED BY ERIE COUNTY NEW YORK 1973 (TA) STATION IS LOCATED IN THE TOWN OF COLDEN ABOUT 5.5 MILES SOUTH OF THE VILLAGE OF EAST AURORA. IT IS ALSO 3.4 MILES SOUTHEAST OF THE COMMUNITY OF JEWETTVILLE. IT IS ALSO 1.0 MILES DUE WEST OF THE ORCHARD PARK RESERVOIR. TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN STREET (U.S. HWY ROUTE 20A) AND CENTER STREET, WHICH IS LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE OF EAST AURORA, GO SOUTH ON CENTER STREET FOR 5.9 MILES TO THE JUNCTION OF DARIEN ROAD. TURN RIGHT AND GO WEST ON DARIEN ROAD FOR 0.25 MILES TO THE JUNCTION OF BOIES ROAD. TURN RIGHT AND GO NORTHWEST ON BOIES ROAD FOR 0.5 MILES AND THE STATION MARK ON THE RIGHT OPPOSITE THE HOUSE OF JOE BALL. STATION MARK IS A STANDARD ERIE COUNTY SURVEY DISK SET IN A ROUND CONCRETE POST 2 INCHES BELOW THE GROUND. THE DISK STAMPED COL-KUM-1 1973. AN UNDERGROUND MARK WAS ESTABLISHED AND STAMPED THE SAME. AZIMUTH SIGHTED TO THE NORTH WAS THE CENTER OF TWIN LIGHTS ATOP SILVER WATER SPHERE WITH BLACK LETTERS MOOG WHICH IS THE EAST AURORA MOOG VALVE CO. INC. TANK 1958 LOCATED AT SENECA ST. AND JAMISON ROAD IN THE TOWN OF ELMA, N.Y. DISTANCE AND DIRECTION FROM STATION RP-1 NEAR EDGE OF POLE NO. 229/N62 6.1 FEET N RP-2 CENTERLINE OF BOIES ROAD 12.2 FEET SW RP-3 NEAR EDGE OF THE FIRST OF A LINE OF EVERGREEN TREES 39.4 FEET SW RP-4 NOTHEAST CORNER OF JOE BALL HOUSE 70.8 FEET SW RP-5 EXTENDED CENTERLINE OF DRIVEWAY TO HOUSE 4.9 FEET NW RP-6 NEAR EDGE OF POLE NO. 983/43 55.6 FEET W STATION MARK IS A STANDARD ERIE COUNTY SURVEY DISK SET IN A ROUND CONCRETE POST 3 INCHES BELOW THE GROUND.   • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in January 1999.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
