Found metal piece in small hole in ground.

Visited this one today and found a hole in the ground, but it looks like the rod has been removed. I didn't dig down, so I'm not sure if the rim is still there.

Found hole & metal edge, insure if Tim or another part... Piece of wood in hole...
Also, found cache close by...

Found while attempting the nearby cache ... found this when I stepped in the hole .... but never did find that cache ...

Nobody has found this one in a while - had to dig out about 8" of dirt to get down to the rim. Cover is missing and filled with dirt as well.

Found a hole but no benchmark, there were no stones covering it so it looks to be destroyed

I found this one while not finding a cache accross the street. I was able to find this because the cache owner told us where it was in his description of the cache. Thanks Tprints

Found with mobey3 and guitardozer while finding louie louie.

Had to dig a bit, but found it while grabbing the cache "Louie, Louie"

Out today checking benchmarks with The Goonies 7 and GoonieNanny.

We could have used a shovel, as the grass and dirt covered it up.

Out finding caches and benchmarks with Goonie Nanny and PopPop55k. Did have the right tools to dig it out completely, but we found it. Took a picture of the outside.

Finally returned and dug deeper.
This time I found it.

recovered in good condition

Found while searching for Louie Louie geocache nearby. No rocks to contend with.

I didn't have to move any rocks, but I did have to dig through some mud to find the rod.

Looks like I did the same thing as Rev Mike. I was here before and pulled a few of the rocks out but didn't see anything but more rocks. I was going to come back with something to poke down into the ground around the hole but after reading Shorbird's log I saw that I was already at the correct spot. This time I removed ALL of the rocks and there it was.

Looks like I did not dig deep enough.

The mark is in good condition at N 42° 08.495 W 080° 04.190. It is at the bottom of a 1.5-foot depression filled with rocks.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
