Love the lighthouses

Not sure how many of the different Marks I needed to find to be able to log this. Found RM1, an azmith disk and the illegible one under the glass.

Saw while in the area.

Slightly dubious find as the actual bm can't be seen due to vegetation growing over it under it's glass seal.

Looted while geocaching at the land lighthouse

Recovered all of the marks thanks to the lightkeeper as he tipped me off to the location of the elusive RM 2. He also mentioned that during the construction of the Bayfront Parkway, surveyors set up over the main station for over a month. I'm surprised that the lighthouse itself isn't in the database as an intersection station ..but with all the tall stacks in the area, I guess there was no shortage of other structures to use for surveying!

Very easy to find - not at all like the first multi-cache Snickers14 and I are searching for (twice unsuccessfully!). Beautiful view.

Got to climb this lighthouse during a geo-event today! Pic is from the top!

Out doing a challenge today.

I've been out here before, but there was snow everywhere. Today, I finally got out here in the nice weather, but, as noted by others, cannot see the mark due to growth in the spot.

Did find the azimuth and a ref mark, though.

Can I really claim it if I can't truly see it? Maybe some of the surveyors in the area can get the case opened and get the plants out of the way.

I also found the Azimuth mark about 450 ft away at N 42* 8.684 by W 080* 3.651.

photoLH Benchmark?

Came across this while doing a different cache.

Noticed the azimuth mark while hunting a nearby cache, pointing right at the lighthouse. Didn't realize we were posing for pictures on top of the actual benchmark until I looked at the other photos on this page.

Found the Azimuth Mark while caching the first stage of GC2B3V3 and visiting the Lighthouse.

Out getting the Seaway Trail caches and noted this benchmark.

Found while traveling the Seaway Trail.

Found near a cache.

Found while out caching.

Out with SKB tonight. We found benchmark, lot of condensation and weed growth under glass. Only edge of mark is visible. Azimuth marker was in very good condition.

cool

Another nice landmark that is also a bm

oh yeah. it's there.

Had seen RM1 in the past but this was the first time I noticed the "light" in the sidewalk.
Without Tprints log I would never looked close enough to realize that was the mark.

Found while caching Thanks...

Found it.

We saw this one while caching in the area. We were lucky enough to be able to go inside the lighthouse this summer.

found this while checking out the nearby lighthouse

The mark is in good condition at the posted coordinates. Reference Mark 1 is in good condition at N 42° 08.631 W 080° 03.722. Reference Mark 2 was searched for and not found. The azimuth mark is in good condition at N 42° 08.685 W 080° 03.654. As noted in a previous log, the station mark is in a well sealed with heavy plastic in the middle of a sidewalk. Condensation makes it very difficult to see the actual mark, but around the edge you can catch a glimpse of it. RM 1 is now flush with the ground south of the entrance road to the lighthouse, and the azimuth is one block away at the end of Hess Avenue.

We had been here looking for a cache, and I joked about "where's the benchmark?" Skeeter humorously pointed to the "light in the sidewalk". Imagine my surprise to discover that WAS the benchmark!

FTF! Woohoo! There are actually at least two benchmarks near the Lighthouse but the one found in the previous log isn't listed here. That benchmark is located South of the lighthouse.

The actual Lighthouse marker is located North of lighthouse on a new sidewalk. The Lighthouse keeper explained that when the new construction was done in the past year, this mark was almost removed. He made them preserve it and it's now protected by a covering. Unfortunately the cover is full of condensation which makes it hard to read. The first time I was here I thought this was just a light embedded in the walk but that is the actual benchmark there. The other benchmark located just south of the lighthouse isn't listed here.
