A NEW DISK WAS CEMENTED INTO THE HOLE OF THE OLD DISK SHANK. THE AZIMUTH MARK WAS APPARENTLY NOT OTHERWISE DISTURBED. ABOUT 3.5 MILES SOUTHERLY ALONG NO. 31 U.S. HIGHWAY FROM THE S END OF THE BRIDGE OVER KALAMAZOO RIVER BETWEEN DOUGLAS AND SAUGAUCK, ABOUT 1.8 MILES N ALONG THE HIGHWAY FROM ITS T-INTERSECTION WITH NO. 122ND AVENUE IN THE VILLAGE OF GANGES, 84 FEET W OF CENTER LINE OF 20-FOOT CONCRETE HWY. TO REACH THE STATION FROM SOUTH HAVEN, GO NORTH APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES ON OLD US 31 TO JUNCTION WITH ROUTE M-89 AND CONTINUE 0.65 MILE NORTH ON OLD US 31 TO STATION SITE. THE STATION IS ON A SMALL RIDGE ON THE WEST SIDE OF OLD US 31, STATION IS 86 FEET WEST OF CENTERLINE OF OLD US 31, 64.5 FT. NW OF TELEPHONE POLE 556. SURFACE AND SUBSURFACE MARKS ARE BOTH STANDARD BRONZE DISCS SET IN CONCRETE. SURFACE MARK IS FLUSH WITH GROUND. REFERENCE 1 IS 55 FEET NE OF 24 INCH MAPLE, 60.6 FEET E OF CENTERLINE OF OLD US 31, 10.4 FEET N OF E-W FENCE LINE. IT IS A STANDARD STATION DISC IN CONCRETE PROJECTING 1/4 IN. TO REACH THE STATION FROM SOUTH HAVEN, GO NORTH 15 MILES ON OLD US HWY 31 TO JUNCTION WITH RT M-89, CONTINUE 0.65 MILE NORTH ON OLD US HWY 31 TO STATION SITE. THE STATION IS A STANDARD BRONZE DISK STAMPED JOHNSTON 1932 SET FLUSH WITH THE GROUND IN A MASS OF CONCRETE 26.21 M (85.99 FT) WEST OF CENTERLINE OF OLD US HWY 31, 19.66 M (64.50 FT) NORTHWEST OF TELEPHONE POLE NO. 556 ON A SMALL SAND RIDGE WHICH IS COVERED BY TREES. THIS STATION WAS RECOVERED, BUT NOT SUITABLE FOR GPS SURVEY. DESCRIBED BY RDJ.

  • The orthometric height was scaled from a topographic map.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
