This might actually still exist in the context that the complete NGS Datasheet ( not the abreviated GC.com version ) lists it as "REBUILT" and has been found in Good Condition in 1965 by the US Lake Survey, and by the US Power Squadron in 1987, 1995 and 2005.

This benchmark no longer exists. It was, in fact, destroyed by a tornado in 1956. Originally built in 1859, it sat at the old pier, the remnants of which can still be seen (see pic). The new channel to the Kalamazoo River is now marked by tall markers, seen in the distance of the pic.

The old pier, which marks the original entrance to the Kalamazoo can be seen in the foreground. The markers in the distance locate the new channel to the Kalamazoo.
