Station located with permission of land owner and the renter.

Station in good condition at 8402 Rolling Rd, 50.5 ft NE of NE edge of steel culvert under stub driveway south of road, 28 ft north of c/l of gravel road, 18.8 ft NE of corner of mailbox post, 10.7 ft west of face of east gate post, 1.5 ft south of gate in fence line, and 15 inches below surface. Iron rod added on west side of concrete post and leaning toward center.

RM1 post remains 81.7 ft east of station at north edge of road. Concrete slightly tilted NW and missing disk. RM3 in good condition as described. AZ mark estimated N42 05 40.9 W091 45 19.3 at 0.81 mile not searched. Note 2009 geocaching log found it as described and slightly tilted west.

Sky visibility at station reasonable except for tall conifer to east. OPUS static session with substandard receiver gave NAD83(2011 epoch 2010.0) N42 05 02.99972 W091 44 53.02946 with pk-pk less than 2 cm. This is 0.282 m (0.93 ft) at 110 deg from the NAD83(96) position, consistent with observation of RM3 of NJ0769 HAAS, but much more than GEOCON2.0 prediction 0.0122 m at 54 deg.

Found the azimuth mark for NJ0775 MORRIS triangulation station disk. I was escorted by a local land owner (and friend) with access to the property and who remembered finding the post some years ago but didn’t know what it was. The azimuth post is located (slightly askew in a westerly tilt) in the northwest corner of section 14 of T84N R08W, approximately as described in the original location 66 feet south of the east-west fence line (section 14 north boundary fence), one foot east of the fence along the old north-south road. The abandoned old road is deeply sunken below bordering land with large trees lining the embankments. The west boundary line of section 14 was apparently on the west side of the old road. (Iowa GIS Map Server-Township overlay) The (1971) station recovery gives a confused location to the azimuth mark from the station. The distance is about .75 mile total north, not .3 mile and another .7 mile to the fence corner. There is a steel fence post witness post in the fence west of the azimuth mark and about 2 feet north. A band of white tape is wound around the post about fence top high.
The roads from the Morris mark are about the same as previously described. The azimuth mark is approximately .35 mile west, .75 mile north and .81 mile NNW from the triangulation station disk, using Google Earth to measure. Approximate location N42 degrees 05.678 W91 degrees 45.313 using Google Earth. I had a line of sight from the azimuth mark to between the Morris schoolhouse and the new building northeast of the schoolhouse where the station mark was buried.
Closest access take Feather Ridge Road (east of the station) north to Wickiup Hill Road turn west to closure at gate and county park. Walk around pass through, follow road west, then south, then west to end of fence line on south to pass through near west end at tree line. The land south of the fence is private property. The section fence is on the south side of this field.
