Found about 45 feet east of the east end of a white picket fence, about 39 feet east of a telephone cable utility box, 12 feet west of PacificCorp utility pole number 34-15-039-145001, recessed one inch, and at handheld coordinates N42-06.659 W111-51.929. There is no witness post.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1951 1.6 MI NE FROM PRESTON. ABOUT 1 MILE NORTH ALONG U. S. HIGHWAY 91 FROM THE COURT HOUSE AT PRESTON, THENCE 0.6 MILE NORTHEAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 34, AT A FENCE LINE, 50 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE STATE HIGHWAY, 12 FEET WEST OF A POWER LINE POLE, AND ABOUT 1 FOOT LOWER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.7 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
