Found our first benchmark while caching the trail 11 cache. Pretty cool.

Pilerman and Muddawber and I were at this one and was looking at the sites when we found this Benchmark. Pretty neat view from here. Can see for so many miles. Pilerman took the pics of the benchmark.

Found while visiting the Trail 11 cache. Looks to be in great shape. Fantastic view from up there.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1947 (FAR) THE STATION IS ABOUT 7 MILES, AIRLINE, SOUTH BY WEST OF ALBION, 17-1/4 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BURLEY, 10 MILES EAST BY NORTH OF OAKLEY, 3/4 MILE NORTHWEST OF CLEVELAND LAKE, IN T13S, R24E. IT IS ON A SMALL PEAK 6/10 MILE NORTHWEST OF MTN. HARRISON WHICH IS ABOUT 150 FEET HIGHER. THE STATION MARK IS A STANDARD DISK CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN A RECTANGULAR BOULDER WHICH IS 2 FEET LONG AND 1 FOOT WIDE. IT PROJECTS 6 INCHES, IS 50 FEET WEST- SOUTHWEST OF A LARGE BOULDER BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY A GROUP OF SCRUB PINE TREES, 3 FEET LOWER AND 40 FEET WEST- SOUTHWEST OF THE HIGHEST PART OF THE HILL. IS STAMPED HARRISON 1947. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS A STANDARD DISK CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN BEDROCK WHICH IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND AND APPROXIMATELY THE SAME ELEVATION AS THE STATION MARK.   • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1992.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
