My dad and I were hiking the Kalmiopsis in April and summited the peak April 21st. We found the Azimuth mark, 2 reference marks, and the benchmark. I'm not sure what happened to the picture with the benchmark :/ Will redo that on our next trip up, but I've got good pictures of the Azimuth and reference markers.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in October 1991.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
