DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1942 (JCS) STATION IS ON PEARSOLL PEAK, A BARE, RED, ROCKY BUTTE, THE HIGHEST POINT IN THIS VICINITY. LOCATED ABOUT 12 MILES, AIR LINE, WNW OF SELMA, 28 MILES NE OF BROOKINGS, 22 MILES SE OF AGNESS, AND 10-1/2 MILES SE OF BALD MOUNTAIN LOOKOUT. LOOKOUT HOUSE IS A 12- BY 12-FOOT WOODEN STRUCTURE, ABOUT 16 FEET HIGH, AND THE ROOF IS TERMINATED BY A 6- BY 6-FOOT CUPOLA, CONICALLY SHAPED WITH A LIGHTNING ROD AT THE APEX. THE BUILDING IS PAINTED GREY AND RESTS ON THE GROUND. THE LIGHTNING ROD IS TAKEN TO BE THE CENTER OF THE LOOKOUT, AND THE MEASUREMENT FROM THE TRIANGULATION STATION PEARSOLL 1942 WAS MADE TO A PLUMB LINE FROM THE LIGHTNING ROD. PEARSOLL LOOKOUT IS 195.550 FEET (59.604 METERS) ENE OF TRIANGULATION STATION PEARSOLL 1942. LOOKOUT HAS GLASS WINDOWS ALL AROUND.
