DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1933 (CMD) THE STATION IS LOCATED CENTRALLY ON HARPSWELL NECK, ON PROPERTY OWNED BY MR. FROST P. BAILEY, 1.85 MILES S OF ELIJAH KELLOG CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH (WHICH IS C. AND G.S. TRIANGULATION STATION HARPSWELL CHURCH 1911), 0.1 MILE W OF STATE HIGHWAY 123, APPROXIMATELY 1/4 MILE E OF THE N END OF BASIN COVE, 85 YARDS NW OF NW CORNER OF MR. BAILEYS HOUSE AND 85 YARDS NNE OF THE STONEWALL WHICH FORMS THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN THE BAILEY PROPERTY AND THE PROPERTY TO THE S. STATION AND REFERENCE MARKS ARE STANDARD BRONZE DISKS SET IN CONCRETE. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS IN THE SE FENCE CORNER OF A CEMETERY WHICH LIES N OF THE STATION AND 12.09 METERS SE OF THE SE CORNER OF A LARGE TOMBSTONE INSCRIBED WITH THE WORD PINKHAM. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS ON THE S FENCE LINE OF THE CEMETERY AND 13.22 METERS SW OF THE SAME CORNER OF THE SAME TOMBSTONE AS REFERENCE MARK NO. 1. THE STATION MAY BE REACHED BY BOAT FROM HARPSWELL SOUND OR BY AUTO BY HIGHWAY 123 FROM BRUNSWICK. HEIGHT OF SIGNAL ABOVE STATION MARK - 11 METERS.

  • The orthometric height was scaled from a topographic map.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
