Found Stark BM in rooftop of Battery Hunter. Fenced off area, unable to approach. BM and area has been painted with a roller. Also located Ref marks 1 and 2, also fenced off for safety.

Came with mandapanda349 to visit the nearby forts, lighthouses, and see one of her old hometowns! Was able to find all 3 marks while attempting a nearby cache. RIGC! :)

Down visiting, our son took us to the open house at Pulpit Rock Tower and then we explored here where we found several benchmarks and this one.

Great spot for a Chirp Cache Hunt and to grab Benchmarks!

Recovered all three discs...the control and both RM discs. All were in good condition.

Found this benchmark per accident. It's in good condition.

Found as described. The station and both RMs are behind safety fences, easily-scaled safety fences. RM1 is 072 degrees for 9.5 meters and at handheld coordinates N43-03.430 W070-42.778. RM2 is at 162 degrees for 10.46 meters at handheld coordinates N43-03.423 W070-42.779.

DESCRIBED BY US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE 1941 (PLB) STATION IS LOCATED ON THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE PARAPET OF BATTERY DAVID HUNTER AT FORT STARK, JUST N OF THE BATTERY COMMAND PEDESTAL. U.S.E. STATION H, A BRASS PLUG SET IN THE CONCRETE, IS 2.948 M. SW OF THE STATION. IT IS A U.S. ARMY MAP-CONTROL DISK, COUNTERSUNK IN THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE. BOTH REFERENCE MARKS ARE STANDARD BRONZE DISKS, SET IN THE TOP OF THE CONCRETE PARAPET. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS NE OF THE STATION, ABOUT 2 FT. S OF THE N EDGE AND 32 FT. E OF THE W EDGE OF THE PARAPET. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS SE OF THE STATION, 2.1 FT. N OF THE S EDGE AND 31.7 FT. E OF THE W EDGE OF THE PARAPET.

S OF THE EDGE OF THE CONCRETE ABUTMENT, 15.9 FT. S-SW OF A VENTILATOR PIPE, 11.3 FT. NW OF THE NE CORNER OF THE OBSERVATION POST, AND 9.7 FT. E OF THE EDGE OF THE ABUTMENT. IT IS A U.S.E. DISK, STAMPED STARK 145 1941 AND COVERED WITH 1 FT. OF EARTH AND SOD. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS NE OF THE STATION, IN THE S ABUTMENT OF THE SECOND EMPLACEMENT FROM THE CONTROL BUILDING, 32 FT.   • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in May 1998.
  • The orthometric height was scaled from a topographic map.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
