RECOVERY NOTE BY NY DEPT OF TRANSP 1995 (KDS) ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTIVE DETAILS FOLLOW. THE STATION IS 2.33 KM (1.45 MI) NORTH OF THE JUNCTION OF NY ROUTES 36 AND 383 NORTH OF CALEDONIA, AND 0.72 KM (0.45 MI) SOUTH OF THE JUNCTION OF ROUTE 36 AND NORTH ROAD NEAR THE NORTH END OF A CURVE. IT IS SET IN A LOW EARTH BANK SEPARATING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY DRAINAGE DITCH FROM THE AGRICULTURAL LAND BEYOND AND IS 8.8 M (28.87 FT) WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF ROUTE 36. THE OLD MONROE COUNTY WITNESS POST WAS LOCATED AND REINSTALLED IN 1995.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1997.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
