Found it

Found it along my hike back to Whirlpool parking. As noted, the marker was scored by the pavement grooving.

Recovered as described though the reference light poles are gone. It is located about 3/4 of the way to the bridge apex approaching from the north. The marker has some deep scores through it resulting in the reference # 67 being obscured somewhat. These marks are a result of the shoulder area of the road getting a traction strip treatment at some point.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in January 1999.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
