Found after doing a GC nearby.

Found during our Dells vacation.
We used the coordinates listed in a previous poster's log and it took us right to the spot.

Logging my one WI benchmark while on vacation. Coords are definitely off.

A quick find before finding some tougher ones.

The coords are way off on this one but I don't have my notes with me to put them in here. The mark is on the Marshall Memorial somemthing. Why nobody bothered to mention this in the NGS recoveries is beyond me. The NGS recovered this mark in 2002 and didn't mention it. The building hasn't been the town hall or library since 1980 or so.

Found as described and in very good condition, although I can't say as much for the recently blown down flagpole. This pretty little building almost looks out of place given its location, but then again most anything fits in the Dells. Corrected coordinates above.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
