DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 (GWM) THE STATION IS ABOUT 2 MILES EAST OF LYNDON STATION, ABOUT 3/4 MILE WEST OF THE WISCONSIN RIVER AND ABOUT 1 MILE SOUTH OF LYNDON CREEK. IT IS IN THE NORTHWEST 1/4 SEC. 12, T 14 N, R 5 N. IT IS ABOUT 15 FEET WEST OF THE TOP OF A WHITE PINE, ON THE SOUTHWEST PART OF A ROCKY RIDGE. IT IS ON THE PROPERTY OF MR. ROGGE. THE MONUMENT IS FLUSH AND THE DISK IS STAMPED LYNDON 1958. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE RAILROAD DEPOT IN LYNDON STATION GO NORTH ON COUNTY ROAD N FOR 0.25 MILE TO JUNCTION OF COUNTY ROADS HH AND N. CONTINUE AHEAD EASTERLY ON COUNTY ROAD N FOR 2.5 MILES TO A GRAVELED ROAD NORTH AND A GRAVELED ROAD EAST AND HERE COUNTY ROAD N TURN RIGHT. TURN RIGHT AND GO SOUTH ON COUNTY ROAD N FOR 0.15 MILE TO A GRAVELED DRIVEWAY AND THE AZIMUTH MARK ON THE RIGHT. TURN RIGHT AND GO 0.05 MILE TO A GATE. CONTINUE THROUGH GATE AND GO WEST FOR 0.05 MILE TO A WIRE GATE. CONTINUE WEST ALONG FARM LANE FOR 0.3 MILE TO END OF TRUCK TRAVEL. PACK ALONG THE WEST SIDE OF THE RIDGE GAINING ALTITUDE WHENEVER IT IS POSSIBLE. AT THE SOUTH WESTERN PART OF RIDGE WORK UP THROUGH CREVICES TO THE TOP. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS IN THE CENTER OF A LARGE FORMATION OF ROCK ON THE SOUTH EDGE OF RIDGE. THE MONUMENT IS FLUSH AND THE DISK IS STAMPED LYNDON NO 1 1958. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS IN THE CENTER OF A LARGE OUTCROP THAT IS ABOUT 6 FEET HIGHER THAN THE STATION. THE MONUMENT IS FLUSH AND THE DISK IS STAMPED LYNDON NO 2 1958. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS 24 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF A GRAVELED DRIVEWAY, 54 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF COUNTY ROAD N, 1 FOOT SOUTH OF A LARGE POST AND 25 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A 30 INCH OAK TREE. THE MONUMENT IS FLUSH AND THE DISK IS STAMPED LYNDON 1958. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 1 METERS.

  • The orthometric height was scaled from a topographic map.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
