Visited this place between geocaches while out on a waymark, benchmark and geocaching run with stlee. Have driven by this place multiple times but have never taken the time to stop before. Benchmark in good shape.

Needed these for Mud's Challenge, had fun finding them but learned they can be quite a challenge.

Was out at Sherman Park and grabbed a couple Benchmarks!

Although this is noted to be a benchmark disk the description takes you to this one, a reference mark disk. Coordinates are no help. Will need to check this out some more.

photoReference or Bench Mark or both? - OQ0270

It's there

The description was more helpful than the co-ordinates. There is a great view from the burial mound. I am thinking of putting a microcache nearby.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
