DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1949 (MEW) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 7.5 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF BALTIC, 4.5 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF GARRETSON, ON GROUNDS OF THE NORWAY LUTHERAN CHURCH. IT IS 136 FEET NORTH-NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE CHURCH AND 14 FEET EAST OF THE CEMETERY FENCE. THE MARK IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND AND THE DISK IS STAMPED NORWAY 1949. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS 31 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE CEMETERY AND 1 FOOT EAST OF THE FENCE. THE MARK IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND AND THE DISK IS STAMPED NORWAY NO 1 1949. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS 8 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE CEMETERY AND 1.5 FEET EAST OF THE FENCE. THE MARK IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND AND THE DISK IS STAMPED NORWAY NO 2 1949. AZIMUTH MARK IS 0.7 MILE EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE STATION, 34 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD, 2 FEET WEST OF A WITNESS POST AND 1.5 FEET WEST OF A TELEPHONE POLE. THE MARK PROJECTS 6 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED NORWAY 1949. TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN STREET AND U.S. HIGHWAY 77 IN THE EAST EDGE OF DELL RAPIDS, GO SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 77 FOR 4.4 MILES TO CROSSROADS WITH SERVICE STATION ON EITHER SIDE OF ROAD, TURN LEFT (EAST) ON GRAVELED ROAD FOR 6.1 MILES TO CROSSROADS, TURN RIGHT (SOUTH) 2.0 MILES TO CROSSROADS, TURN LEFT (EAST) 0.1 MILE TO A CHURCH ON THE RIGHT AND THE STATION AS DESCRIBED. TO REACH THE AZIMUTH FROM THE STATION, GO EAST 0.7 MILE TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 22 METERS.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1966 (PCJ) THE STATION MARK, REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 1, REFERENCE MARK NUMBER 2 AND THE AZIMUTH MARK WERE RECOVERED AND FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION. THE 1949 ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION TO REACH THE STATION IS ADEQUATE. AIRLINE DISTANCE AND DIRECTION FROM NEAREST TOWN--7.5 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF BELTIC, ABOUT 6.0 MILES SOUTHEAST OF DELL RAPIDS AND ON THE GROUNDS OF THE NORWAY LUTHERAN CHURCH.
