Have driven by here numerous times but today I stopped to view the disk, this one is N of 302 and standing (J&K logged them backwards)

Lying on ground. Was covered in snow just a few days ago!

Found this even though the co-ordinates are incorrect.

44 degrees 00.077 N
070 degrees 59.800 W

Is in GOOD condition. First to "recover" this and its Sister (PF0224) in 70 years !

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1933 1.2 MI W FROM FRYEBURG. 1.2 MILES WEST ALONG THE MAINE CENTRAL RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT FRYEBURG, 235 FEET WEST OF MILEPOST P 51, 220 FEET WEST OF THE TRACK, AND 20 FEET NORTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 302. SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
