Relogging as part of the Spring 2009 Benchmark Contest.

Found as described and recovered in good condition. This station can be accessed from the Mountain Bay Trail off of Spring Green Road near Spring Green Park in Howard. The coordinates are accurate.

Interesting point: this station has a rather large triangle on it and it is also a flat across, rather than convex.

The bike chain is also still there on the witness post.

Spent the day finding some more BM. Thanks to the GC.com forums, getting all the required info downloaded into GSAK was easy!

Hard o beleive we originally had a WP to a cache near here, but yet never known about the BM. Boy how times change. Had to jump the drainage ditch of water then proceed to climb up a semi-steep hill that was covered in ice and mud in order to find this BM. I found it interesting that someone put a bicycle chain on the witness post. Everything is in good condition.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in November 1991.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
