DESCRIBED BY WI DEPT OF TRANSP 1979 (LTK) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 20 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF SHAWANO, 2.5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF TIGERTON, AND 400 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE JUNCTION OF USH 45 AND CTH SS AT THE NORTH EDGE OF SPLIT ROCK. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF USH 45 AND CTH M IN TIGERTON GO SOUTHEAST ALONG USH 45 FOR 2.35 MILES TO STATION ON THE WEST SIDE OF USH 45. THE STATION IS ON HIGHWAY RIGHT OF WAY ABOUT 10 FEET ABOVE THE PAVEMENT AND NEAR THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF A LUTHERAN CEMETERY. THE STATION MARKS ARE STANDARD WIDT DISKS STAMPED---SPLIT ROCK 1979---. THE SURFACE DISK IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12 INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 5 INCHES ABOVE GROUND. IT IS 80.7 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF USH 45, 68.7 FEET SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF A POWER POLE NUMBERED 7159, 4.7 FEET EAST OF A FENCE LINE, AND 4 FEET EAST OF A METAL WITNESS POST. THE UNDERGROUND DISK IS SET IN AN IRREGULAR MASS OF CONCRETE 4.5 FEET BELOW GROUND. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS A BERNSTEN 5 FOOT DRIVABLE ALUMINUM ROD WITH A MAGNETIC CAP DRIVEN FLUSH WITH THE GROUND. THE CAP IS STAMPED---SPLIT ROCK RM 1 1979---. IT IS LOCATED IN THE CEMETERY FENCE LINE AND IS 193.7 FEET NORTH OF THE LENZ CEMETERY MONUMENT, 98.0 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF USH 45, AND 38.2 FEET SOUTH OF A METAL WITNESS POST. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS A STANDARD WIDT DISK STAMPED---SPLIT ROCK RM 2 1979---. THE DISK IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12 INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 9 INCHES ABOVE GROUND. IT IS 82.4 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER OF USH 45, 50.3 FEET NORTH OF A METAL WITNESS POST, 26 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A POWER POLE NUMBERED 7159, AND 2.5 FEET EAST OF A FENCE LINE. NO AZIMUTH MARK WAS SET. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE MARK WAS 1.34 METERS.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in November 1991.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
