Stopped at the campus store to pick up some swag for my son who will be attending this awesome university next fall. Decided to start finding some of the neat marks on campus. This was the first. In great shape, easy to find.

Found while visiting the U with my son. Last time we were here this one was covered in snow.

Lots of students outside on a beautiful fall afternoon here, but had no problems locating the disk. Still in relatively good shape. You shouldn't have too much trouble with this one.

Found on campus without any parking hassles, even though I was in a loading zone without a permit. I guess the UM parking police were all in church! :)

A lot of people out on the mall today. The first warm days of spring brings every student outdoors. Fun atmosphere to be in.

Found it on my second shot - I knew where it should have been I just walked right past on the first time.

Found tonight between overtime work assignments. Finding this with just a GPS in the night was not favorable the otherday. Today with printout in hand search was fast, unfortunately not fast enough as the parking meter ran out 2 minutes prior to my return and the meterman was more than happy enough to give the $34 ticket. At least I found three for the cost of a ticket

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in March 1999.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
