Worst Weather ascent of the year. Shalee, Tony, and I got a campsite down by heart lake, and the hiking was a little snowy to start but nice and dry towards the lake. Since it was clear at least the first 1000 feet, Tony and I decided to go for it. Towards the top was brutal and it was high winds coupled with 1-2 feet drifting snow with almost no visibility.
Since there was snow everywhere, the ref mark is all I could locate.

THE STATION IS LOCATED AT THE SUMMIT OF MOUNT SHERIDAN, WHICH IS LOCATED ABOUT 12 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF THUMB AND 2 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE HEART RANGER STATION ON HEART LAKE. THE STATION MARK IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN A BOULDER FLUSH WITH THE GROUND AND STAMPED SHERIDAN 1950.
REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS A STANDARD BRONZE DISK SET IN THE NORTH CORNER OF THE LOOKOUT HOUSE FOUNDATION, AND STAMPED SHERIDAN NO 1 1950.
REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS A STANDARD BRONZE DISK SET IN A BOULDER, PROJECTS 18 INCHES, AND STAMPED SHERIDAN NO 2 1950.
THE AZIMUTH MARK IS APPROXIMATELY 0.2 MILE NORTH-NORTHWEST OF THE STATION IN A CLEARING AT A LOWER ELEVATION THAN MOUNT SHERIDAN. THE MARK IS 30 FEET WEST OF A TRIANGLE-BLAZED 24-INCH PINE TREE AND 15 FEET EAST OF THE HORSE TRAIL LEADING TO THE SHERIDAN LOOKOUT HOUSE.

- The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in January 1997.
- The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
- The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
- The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
