DESCRIBED BY MISSOURI RIVER COMMISSION 1948 (FXP) STATION IS ABOUT 4-1/2 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF WHITLOCK CROSSING, ABOUT 2-3/4 MILES EAST OF THE MISSOURI RIVER, 100 FEET SOUTHEAST OF AN EARTH EXCAVATION, AND 11 FEET NORTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST. IT IS ON THE HIGHEST POINT OF A PROMINENT HILL KNOWN AS BUNKER HILL IN SEC. 22, T 119 N, R 78 W, AND ON LAND OWNED BY MR. JAY LAKE. IT IS A STANDARD MISSOURI RIVER COMMISSION CAST IRON 4-INCH CAP FASTENED TO THE TOP OF AN IRON PIPE THAT PROJECTS 3 INCHES. IT IS UNSTAMPED. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS 48.46 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE STATION, AND 47.0 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE WITNESS POST. IT PROJECTS 3 INCHES, AND THE DISK IS STAMPED BUNKER HILL MO R C NO 1 1948. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS 34.88 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE STATION, AND 27.5 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE WITNESS POST. IT PROJECTS 2 INCHES, AND THE DISK IS STAMPED BUNKER HILL MO R C NO 2 1948. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS APPROXIMATELY 0.5 MILE NORTH OF THE STATION, 74 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF A TRACK ROAD, 51 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH EDGE OF A CATTLE GUARD, 4 FEET SOUTH OF A WITNESS POST, AND 1 FOOT EAST OF A WIRE FENCE. IT PROJECTS 2 INCHES, AND THE DISK IS STAMPED BUNKER HILL MO R C 1948. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE STORE AT WHITLOCK CROSSING, GO EAST ON U.S. HIGHWAY 212 FOR 11.7 MILES. THEN LEFT ON U.S. HWY. 83 FOR 6.0 MILES TO A CROSSROAD. THEN LEFT, WEST, 3.95 MILES TO A POINT WHERE THE MAIN TRAVELED ROAD TURNS LEFT. CONTINUE WEST ON A TRACK ROAD 4.3 MILES TO A FORK. THEN RIGHT, NORTHWESTERLY, 1.2 MILES TO A CATTLE GUARD AND THE AZIMUTH MARK AS DESCRIBED. CROSS CATTLE GUARD THEN LEFT, SOUTHERLY, (PASSING TO THE RIGHT OF A RESERVOIR) 0.4 MILE. THEN BEAR LEFT, SOUTHEASTERLY, 0.2 MILE TO THE HIGHEST POINT AND THE STATION AS DESCRIBED. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 1 METER.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in January 1998.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
