THE STATION MARK, STAMPED HOODOO USFS NO 2 1946, IS A STANDARD USC AND GS REFERENCE DISK BRAZED TO THE TOP OF A 2-1/2 INCH IRON PIPE PROJECTING 3-1/2 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1, STAMPED HOODOO USFS NO 1 1946, IS A STANDARD USC AND GS DISK SET FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE CONCRETE BLOCK SUPPORTING THE SOUTHEAST LEG OF THE TOWER. THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE MARK, STAMPED HOODOO L.O. 1936, IS A STANDARD DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE DISK SET FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE CONCRETE BLOCK SUPPORTING THE SOUTHWEST LEG OF THE TOWER. THIS MARK WAS SET AS A REFERENCE MARK FOR THE ORIGINAL FOREST SERVICE STATION, WHICH IS THE EXACT CENTER OF THE TOWER, NOT MARKED. Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in October 1991.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
