Found in good condition with BlueMoth

Recovered in good condition. Our Garmin nuvi 760 GPSr gave the coordinates as N 45° 39.089 W 123° 16.559 (with “19 foot accuracy”).

Differences from, and additions to, the 1962 description:
- There is no longer a post office in Glenwood.
- It is “Gales Creek”, not “Gale Creek”.
- The mark is 12.2 feet northeast from the centerline of the road and 10 inches higher than the road surface.
- The mark is 1.8 feet southeast from a green sign that says: “Washington County Bridge 1388”.
- The mark is 0.5 feet southeast of the northwest corner edge of the bridge footing.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
