Recovered the station mark in good condition at the adjusted coordinates and per the 1987 description (with one exception noted below). Also recovered RM2 and RM3 per the box score and the 1975 description. Additional notes on RM2 and RM3 are below.

Change to the 1987 description:
- We found the station mark at 1.3 feet northwest of a metal witness post with a white sign. The witness post is very loose in the ground. The mark projects 2 inches.

RM2:
RM2 is now 1 foot below ground on the northwest side of a 1.2 foot diameter multi-trunk tree. The tree has slightly grown over the edge of RM2. RM2 is 1.5 feet east from the base of old rusted witness post (the rest of the post was broken off and lying on the ground).
RM2 is still 26 feet northwest of a road but the road is no longer macadam – it is paved (barely) and full of holes.

RM3
We will log our findings for RM1 under RD1445.

BEGINNING OF HIGH-WATER MARK IS ABOUT 260 METERS W OF STATION. THE MARK IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN A 7-INCH ROUND RED TILE FILLED WITH CONCRETE, WHICH IN TURN IS SET IN AN IRREGULAR MASS OF CONCRETE 3-1/2 FEET DEEP. THE TILE PROTRUDES ABOUT 6 INCHES ABOVE GROUND. BELOW THIS MARK IS A GLASS BOTTLE SET IN CONCRETE. REFERENCE MARK NO.1 BEARS N BY E OF STATION AND IS A STANDARD DISK SET IN 5-INCH ROUND RED TILE FILLED WITH CONCRETE (BASE OF CONCRETE 3-1/2 FEET DEEP) WHICH PROTRUDES 6 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. REFERENCE MARK NO.2 IS AS DESCRIBED IN NO.1, BEARING E OF STATION.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 (FN) THE STATION AND REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 WERE RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 HAS BEEN DESTROYED, ITS REMAINS FOUND LYING IN THE SAND. A NEW REFERENCE MARK WAS SET. STATION IS LOCATED ON A LARGE DRIFTWOOD FLAT ABOUT 0.6 MILE WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE VILLAGE OF BARVIEW, 130 METERS NORTH OF THE JETTY, ABOUT 100 METERS WEST OF A LARGE AREA COVERED WITH SHORT GRASS AND 20.5 METERS SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF AN EAST-WEST TRAIL. Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in October 1991.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
