Recovered in good condition.
(Our Garmin nuvi 760 GPS gave the location as: N 45° 12.807 W 123° 50.885 (with “19 Foot Accuracy”).

Notes/additions to the 1987 descriptions are as follows:
- We found the mark at 84.7 feet northwest from the closest edge of a Tillamook P.U.D. utility pole with the following markings: horizontal label: “247709”, vertical label: “121200”, and another vertical label: ”42”.
- We found the mark at feet 45.9 feet northwest from the center of the northerly road to the fish hatchery.
- We found the mark at 34.2 feet northeast from the painted centerline of Highway 22.
- We found the mark 10.1 feet west of the “Cedar Creek Fish Hatchery” signpost for a sign that also has an Oregon Fish & Wildlife logo.

Mark is hidden by grass but the location is marked by an orange flag that can barely be seen in the lawn just to the right of the base of sign mentioned in the description.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1987 33.7 KM (20.95 MI) SOUTH FROM TILLAMOOK. 31.4 KM (19.50 MI) SOUTHERLY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 101 FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH STATE HIGHWAY 6 IN TILLAMOOK, THENCE 2.3 KM (1.45 MI) SOUTHEASTERLY ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 22, AT THE ENTRANCE ROAD LEADING NORTHERLY TO THE CEDAR CREEK FISH HATCHERY, 26.0 M (85.3 FT) WEST-NORTHWEST OF UTILITY POLE NUMBER 247709, 11.3 M (37.1 FT) WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF THE ROAD, 10.4 M (34.1 FT) NORTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND 3.0 M (9.8 FT) WEST OF THE CEDAR CREEK FISH HATCHERY SIGN. NOTE--ACCESS TO DATUM POINT IS HAD THROUGH A 5-INCH LOGO CAP. THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH THE HIGHWAY.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
