DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 (LDF) STATION IS LOCATED AT THE SOUTH EDGE OF MC MINNVILLE, AT THE EAST END OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD OVERPASS OF STATE HIGHWAY 18, IN THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 29 R-4-W T-4-S AND ON THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY. TO REACH FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 99W AND STATE HIGHWAY 18 IN THE SOUTH EDGE OF MC MINNVILLE GO EAST ON STATE HIGHWAY 18 FOR 0.5 MILE TO THE OVERPASS AND THE STATION ON THE LEFT. TO REACH U.S. ENGINEERS MARK RIM (AZ MK) FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 99W AND STATE HIGHWAY 18 GO SOUTH ON U.S. HIGHWAY 99W FOR 0.75 MILE TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT. STATION MARKS ARE STANDARD DISKS STAMPED MINN 1972. THE SURFACE DISK IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12 INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT THAT IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS 20.3 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 18 AND 3 FEET NORTH OF GUARD RAIL. REFERENCE MARK 1, IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED MINN NO 1 1972, SET IN THE TOP OF A 12 INCH CYLINDRICAL CONCRETE MONUMENT THAT PROJECTS 2 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS 24 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 1.5 FOOT NORTH OF THE GUARD RAIL AND ON THE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY. REFERENCE MARK 2, IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED MINN NO 2 1972, SET IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE OVERPASS. IT IS 16 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 0.9 FOOT WEST OF THE EAST END OF THE OVERPASS AND 6 INCHES ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE HIGHWAY. RIM (AZ MK), IS A U.S. ENGINEERS DISK STAMPED RIM S.O.T. 1935. IT IS SET IN THE TOP OF A 12 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT THAT PROJECTS 4 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND SURFACE. IT IS 38 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF SIDE ROAD WEST, 35 FEET EAST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF A CAR PORT AND 32 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 99W. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 1.5 METERS.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in October 1991.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
