Third times a charm trying to find this one.The first time up here,I could only find one of the reference marks. The second time up here,I brought my metal detector, but the ground was still frozen so I couldn't dig.Today,I made the long drive and decent hike in with my metal detector again and found what I believe to be the other reference mark and after searching with my metal detector and some digging,I uncovered the benchmark. It was very satisfying after all the drives and hikes to finally find this one.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1992.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
