DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1949 (MJT) STATION IS ABOUT 27 MILES EAST OF FORT BENTON, AND ABOUT 12 MILES SOUTHEAST OF VIRGELLE, NEAR THE EAST END OF A ROCKY BLUFF WHICH IS ABOUT 1/2 MILE WEST OF THE MISSOURI RIVER, AND ON LAND OWNED BY W.L. GIBLER. IT IS 6 FEET WEST OF A WITNESS POST. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE POST OFFICE IN FORT BENTON, GO EAST ACROSS THE BRIDGE SPANNING THE MISSOURI RIVER, AND CONTINUE EAST 7.55 MILES TO A FORK, BEAR LEFT, AND CONTINUE EAST 13.6 MILES TO A T-ROAD, TURN LEFT, GO NORTH AND EAST 5.0 MILES TO A CROSSROADS, TURN LEFT, GO NORTH 1.0 MILE TO A CROSSROADS, TURN RIGHT, GO EAST 1.0 MILE TO A CROSSROADS, TURN LEFT, GO NORTH 1.7 MILES TO A T-ROAD AND A GATE, TURN RIGHT, PASS THROUGH THE GATE AND GO EAST 1.2 MILES TO A RANCH HOUSE ON THE RIGHT, BEAR LEFT, CROSS A COULEE AND CONTINUE EAST 0.1 MILE TO A GATE, PASS THROUGH THE GATE, BEAR LEFT ON THE MAIN TRAVELED ROAD AND CONTINUE EAST 0.7 MILE TO A FORK, BEAR RIGHT, GO 0.1 MILE TO A DIM FORK, BEAR LEFT AND CONTINUE EAST 0.2 MILE TO A TRACK ROAD BETWEEN CULTIVATED FIELDS, CONTINUE EAST ON THE TRACK ROAD 1.45 MILE TO THE AZIMUTH MARK ON THE RIGHT, CONTINUE EAST 0.3 MILE TO THE STATION. STATION MARK PROJECTS 6 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED ESS 1949. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS 37 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE WITNESS POST. THE MARK PROJECTS 6 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED ESS NO 1 1949. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS 106 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE WITNESS POST. THE MARK PROJECTS 4 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED ESS NO 2 1949. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS ABOUT 200 YARDS SOUTH OF THE ROAD AND 5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST. THE MARK PROJECTS 6 INCHES AND THE DISK IS STAMPED ESS 1949. ALL MARKS ARE STANDARD DISKS SET IN THE TOPS OF 12-INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POSTS. A 4 FOOT STAND AT ESS WILL SEE 4 FOOT STANDS AT STATIONS SHEEP AND DOME.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1992.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
