Mark found in good condition as described. It is also about 1 foot South of a WADT orange fiberglass witness post, 135 feet West from intersection of Railroad Ave. and Grant St., 145 feet West from metal utility pole.

DESCRIBED BY US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY 1973 IN CLAYTON. AT CLAYTON, STEVENS COUNTY, 850 FEET WEST OF A RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING, 84 FEET NORTH AND 171 FEET EAST OF THE CLAYTON P.O., 61 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A RAILROAD TELEPHONE SHACK, 39 FEET SOUTH OF THE TRACK, 41 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER OF THE STREET, AND 4 FEET WEST OF POLE 185. A STANDARD DISK STAMPED A 25 1931 AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
