Recovered “M461” in good condition.

We checked all measurements (other than driving mileages) from the 1973 description.
Changes and additions to that description are as follows:

  • We found the mark at 23.5 feet south-southwest from the painted centerline of the road.

  • The marks found on the power line pole were as follows:
    Horizontally: “EI – G”,
    Vertically: “2 - 8”
    Vertically: “PSE INTOLIGHT SLAR9068”

  • We found the mark at 4.0 feet north-northeast of the right-of-way fence. The fence has metal posts with 3 strands of barbed wire at the top and woven wire fence below that – all galvanized.

  • The disk is 2 feet south-southwest of an orange Carsonite witness post.

(Our Garmin nuvi 760 GPSr gave the mark’s location as N 47° 03.334 W 123° 00.386 (with “16 Foot Accuracy”)).

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
