STATION MARK IS A STANDARD BRONZE STATE SURVEY DISK STAMPED KING COUNTY AERIAL SURVEY SET IN A PRECAST CONCRETE MONUMENT. REFERENCE MARK IS SIMILAR AND IS SET 30.25 FEET S 24 DEG W MAGNETIC. TO REACH THIS STATION--FROM GOODES CORNER, A 3-WAY PAVED ROAD INTERSECTION ON RENTON-ISSAQUAH ROAD (RENTON 10 MILES, ISSAQUAH 2 MILES, REDMOND 12 MILES) AT S END OF LAKE SAMMAMISH, RUN NW ON PAVEMENT PASSING ALONG W SIDE OF LAKE SAMMAMISH 4.9 MILES. FIND AT RIGHT SIDE OF ROAD A BLUE SIGN READING ARTHUR P. SHERMAN. JUST N OF THIS SIGN ON SAME SIDE OF ROAD IS A CLEARED AND LEVELED OPEN SPACE. STOP. DESCEND TO BEACH. FIND JUST N OF HOUSE OF MR. SHERMAN A CLUMP OF WILLOWS EXTENDING OUT TO WATERS EDGE. STATION IS 25 FEET FROM THE SHORE AT THE S END OF THE CLUMP. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK 1.5 METERS.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 (FHH) THE LOT MENTIONED AS MR. SHERMANS IS NOW SYDNEY A. BROCKMANS. THERE IS A LOW STONE BULKHEAD NEAR HIGH WATER MARK ACROSS LAKE FRONT OF MR. BROCKMANS LOT, AND A SMALL HOUSE ON THE LOT NEAR N END OF BULKHEAD. STATION IS ON BEACH. STATION IS NEAR THE CENTER POINT OF SEC. 1, T. 24, R. 5, ON THE GRAVEL BEACH OF W SHORE OF LAKE SAMMAMISH. IT IS A BRONZE DISK ON A SMALL BOULDER 8 INCHES HIGH AND 6 METERS OUTSIDE HIGH WATER MARK. REFERENCE MARK IS IN A BOULDER 1.31 METERS E OF STONE BULKHEAD AND 4.75 METERS FROM N END OF BULKHEAD. IT IS A BRONZE DISK. STATION TO N END OF BULKHEAD, 9.96 METERS. TO NE CORNER OF THE SMALL HOUSE, 12.08 METERS. TO REFERENCE MARK, 11.706 METERS.

RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 (MEW) PREVIOUS DESCRIPTION IS ON PAGES 27,28 AND 46 OF BOOK NO. 541. THE DISK FROM THE STATION MARK WAS FOUND BURIED ABOUT 8 INCHES NEAR ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION. IT HAD BEEN BROKEN OUT OF THE ROCK. THE REFERENCE MARK WAS FOUND AS DESCRIBED AND APPARENTLY UNDISTURBED. IT IS AT 1616 W. LAKE SAMMAMISH ROAD, ON PROPERTY OWNED AND OCCUPIED BY MR. J. H. WADESON. THE REFERENCE MARK IS 46.3 FEET EAST-NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE SMALL CONCRETE LANDING AT THE FOOT OF THE CONCRETE STEPS TO THE HOUSE, 16.7 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE CONCRETE STEP IN THE LOW ROCK BULKHEAD, 16.1 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTH END OF THE BULKHEAD AND 4.0 FEET EAST OF THE BULKHEAD.
