Found the Station on the summit and RM 2 during the descent while giving room to two goats to pass by. Looked briefly but didn't see RM 1 near the station. Warm day with nice breezes higher up.

The station with coordinates and elevation, nearly spot on.
photoReference Mark 2
RM 2, with its arrow pointing at the summit, is found north of and next to the trail when you first reach the ridge.

I missed this benchmark, but the actual highest point of the mountain is about 200 feet to the east on the somewhat higher peak. I recorded the coordinates at the highest point to be N 48° 11.348 W 116° 04.841.

Goats and beautiful view! Amazing hike!

My first benchmark find. It is in great shape.

Yep, it's still there. I think we better have one or two more people verify this though ;-)

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in July 1992.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
