STATION IS ON HIGHEST POINT OF BLACK TOP ABOUT 900 FT SE. OF ORIGINAL LOCATION OF CHILIWIST BUTTE FS LOH. THIS TOWER HAS BEEN DISMANTLED AND ONLY A GENERAL LOCATION IS POSSIBLE. NO EVIDENCE IS ON GROUND AS TO EXACT LOCATION OF TOWER. STATION IS ABOUT 40 FT S. OF TV REFLECTOR STATION. TO REACH FROM MALOTT, DRIVE SW. ON U.S. HWY. 97 2.5 MI TO T-RD. AND SIGN CHILIWIST CREEK, OLEMA. TURN RIGHT OFF MAIN HWY. AND FOLLOW GRAVEL RD. 1.6 MI TO RD. FORKS AT SHARP BEND AND SIGN CHILIWIST BUTTE. TAKE RIGHT FORK THROUGH POLE GATE, CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD ON DIRT RD. 0.5 MI TO UNPAINTED FARMHOUSE LEFT, CONTINUE THROUGH FARMYARD AND FOLLOW MAIN-TRAVELED RD. 1.1 MI TO RD. FORKS AT EAST EDGE OF CULTIVATED FIELD. TAKE RIGHT FORK UPHILL ON DIRT RD. 0.6 MI TO FALLEN LOG HOUSE RIGHT, PASS BY HOUSE AND CONTINUE 1.3 MI TO STATION. STATION MARK--STANDARD TABLET STAMPED---CHILIWIST 1956---, CEMENTED IN LARGE GRANITE ROCK. RM NO. 1--BOLT STAMPED---1---, WEDGED IN LARGE ROCK.   • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in December 1991.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
