This one took a bit to find because it was again buried over with dirt and grass. Only had my keys to dig with and spit to clean it off. Directions are good.

My find of the day. Got to GZ by the description however the measurements are all off. The only one I used was the distance from the powerpole. The disk was covered with grass so I couldn't see it. I took out my pocket knife and poked once into the ground...TINK!!! HUH?? TINK..TINK..TINK! Low and behold I struck paydirt first time.

You gotta read the official find logs...Monumented 1956; 1961 found by NGS; 1978 NOT FOUND by NGS!!! 1988 NGS finds it again!! 1993 MWDSC finds it. 2005 not found by a cacher; 2006 BINGO found again.

I found the power line pole 36213E and did a thorough search about 4' East and West of it. Where it should be is manicured grass from the nearby homeowner (it's possible they removed when landscaping).

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
