DESCRIBED BY US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY 1970 (JEP) STATION IS LOCATED WEST 29 DEGREES SOUTH ABOUT 12 MILES AIRLINE FROM LIMON, COLORADO. EAST 14 DEGREES NORTH ABOUT 11.5 MILES AIRLINE FROM SIMLA, COLORADO. ABOUT 500 FEET WEST OF AN AMERICAN TELEPHONE RADIO TOWER. 75 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 24 ON HIGH POINT, AND 5.5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A USGS WITNESS SIGN AND SNOW FENCE. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 24 AND STATE HIGHWAY 71 SOUTH, IN LIMON, COLORADO PROCEED WEST ON U.S. HIGHWAY 24 FOR 12.5 MILES TO A WIRE GATE ON THE RIGHT. TURN RIGHT (NW) THROUGH GATE THENCE RIGHT ALONG RIGHT-OF-WAY FENCE FOR 0.1 MILE TO HIGH POINT AND STATION SITE. ALL MARKS ARE USGS BRASS TABLETS SOLDERED TO COPPER COATED STEEL RODS CENTERED IN TILE 6 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND 12 INCHES LONG FILLED WITH GRAVEL AND SET FLUSH WITH GROUND SURFACE. STATION MARK IS A ROD DRIVEN 29 FEET TO REFUSAL. TABLET STAMPED VIEW ET 1970. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS A ROD DRIVEN 25 FEET. TABLET STAMPED VIEW ET 1 1970. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS A ROD DRIVEN 30 FEET. TABLET STAMPED VIEW ET 2 1970. STATION MAT ET 1970 IS VISIBLE FROM THE GROUND AT THIS STATION AND WILL SERVE AS THE AZIMUTH MARK. ALL STATIONS ARE VISIBLE FROM THE GROUND AT THIS STATION EXCEPT RUSH ET 1970. A LIGHT HEIGHT OF 21.13 FEET. 6.440 METERS WAS USED AT RUSH ET. AN HI OF 17.85 FEET. 5.441 METERS WAS NEEDED AT THIS STATION FOR THIS LINE OF SIGHT.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in January 1993.
  • The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.)
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
