We found this Benschmark on the tour with the wherrigo

First try:
Cool.??

Second try:
Quite simply searched, found, finished ...

And now again right:
On our way from Leipzig on vacation to New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Niagara Falls, Cleveland, Toledo, Chicago, Sioux City, Badlands NP, Mount Rushmore, Bighorn Mountains, Cody, Yellowstone NP, Jackson, Grand Teton NP, Salt Lake City, Bryce Canyon NP, Lake Powell, Grand Canyon, Williams, Las Vegas, Mojave Desert, Los Angeles, Visalia, Yosemite NP, Modesto and San Francisco we came right here. Of course, we also wanted this one GeoCache / Benchmark on the To-Do list to pick up. And now there is a smiling face. There were no problems ... Yes, the destination fits. Thus: the end is good, all right ...

In other words:
Everything is there, where it belongs, undamaged and waiting for the next visitors.

Now we like to say:
Thank you for your GeoCache / Benchmark and another smiley on our map.

Greetings from Mrs. Lu and Mr. Lu

Roosevelt Island was a new place to explore on our trip to NYC on this most beautiful day. Sis, Bubba, and our cousins were doing the nearby Wherigo when we passed by here. I didn't even know it was a Benchmark until I got back home.

A special holiday for PapaRonNL and his daughter! Loving it! Last few days in New York! thanks for the cache , nice spot.
My first benchmark!

A US road trip started on May 30, 2016. We left home at 7:00AM CET, took a flight to Washington DC and connected to a Flight to Phoenix to arrive in our hotel at 9:30PM local time, at 23 hour trip! After caching in Phoenix we continued to the Grand Canyon, did a significant hike for a Virtual, enjoyed the impressive view and moved on to Kayenta. Through Monument Valley we went to Aches National Park. After a night in a comfortable tent and looking at the starts we now move through the Rocky Mountains towards Denver.

From Denver we moved on towards Mount Rushmore, that was a great drive and a great mountain!!
We spend the night in Rapid City, in the morning we did some caches before taking the plane to New York.

Sunday we did Central Park in New York, we skipped nicely between the heavy rain had a great event and before the storm fully hit we were in a restaurant

Yesterday was so much better, with 30 degrees Celsius +and a nice wind it was great weather to go through the city. We crossed over to New Jersey to get some smileys there as well and continued in upper down town. We ended the day with a Yankees game against the LA Angels.

Our last day is sunny and shining, we got up early for sightseeing and caching.
Roosevelt Island WherIGo leads us around and enables extra finds, thanks!

Hi!

We've found this one while hunting for a geocache. This place was the northernmost we came to while walking around Roosevelt Island!

Bye,

Found while doing the Roosevelt Island Wherigo

Today I was geocaching on the Island. As I went all the way up and down for the Wherigo I also came along this Lighthouse.

Discovered while spending the day in town.
Logged with GCDroid.

Doing the WhereIGo, learned about this benchmark too :)

Found in good condition, of course. View is from Long Island City. It's interesting to note that the name of the NGS record refers to "Blackwell's Island," while another NGS landmark (Welfare Island Tall Chimney) on the same island refers to "Welfare Island." Both names, of course, have been superseded by the modern name, "Roosevelt Island."

The lighthouse was built in 1872 when the island was known by its colonial era name, Blackwell's Island, which had been privately owned by the Blackwell family until 1828 when it was sold to New York City (which was, at that time, only what's now Manhattan) for about $32,000. The name was changed to Welfare Island in 1921, and it remained so until 1971 when it was renamed, again, for Franklin D. Roosevelt.

I have been pointed to log my first Benchmark while doing a Wherigo at Roosevelt Island.

Found it while touring the island via the Whereigo cache.

Spent the afternoon at Roosevelt Island and visited this benchmark along the way. There is a cache just around the corner, also enjoyed the wherigo tour which passes here. Greetings from Singapore!

Spotted this structure from Wards Islands south end, though I have visited it on other occassions. Hard to miss a light house in the Middle of NYC (?) :D

Found this nice benchmark during the Wherigo Tour of Roosevelt Island. Thanks for pointing it out in the cartridge! Quite windy today, but we enjoyed the view!

Wow! I didnt know that this was a benchmark until I was looking through a list of benchmarks in my area! Me and my youngest daughter Lucy were here the other day, looking for an area to hide a new cache.
