This is a great find. I'm surprised it's still here.

GPS coords right on the money! Lettering mostly gone now but the disk is still there.

Found it.® With Harry.

Found by coordinates, and holograph's photos. Coordinates right on. A little tough in the snow, fortunately I knew it was 2.3' east of the post. Some of the lettering is hard to read.

N 41°04.322 W 74°45.402 The mark is difficult to read but is located as described. The 5 cm post is about 2 feet tall. There are two large posts nearby, not to be mistaken for the small 5 cm post. The rock cairn is partly knocked down.

We were able to easily find all the reference points, but there is an empty spot where it looks like the marker once was. I am not marking this as destroyed, but if another searcher agrees, lets figure this was wiped out when the college redid the hillside.

TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. ROUTE 206, N.J. ROUTE 94 AND COUNTY ROAD 519 NORTHBOUND, ABOUT ONE BLOCK NORTH OF THE COURT HOUSE IN THE TOWN OF NEWTON, GO WEST THEN NORTH ON COUNTY ROAD 519 FOR 0.9 MI (1.4 KM) TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE ENTRANCE TO THE COUNTY OFFICE COMPLEX, PLOTTS ROAD, ON THE LEFT. TURN LEFT, GO WEST FOR 0.15 MI (0.24 KM) TO A ROAD ON THE LEFT. TURN LEFT, AND GO UPHILL INTO THE PARKING LOT FOR THE SUSSEX COUNTY OFFICE COMPLEX. THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF A HIGH EMBANKMENT, 95 PACES NORTH OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE PARKING LOT.   • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in May 1999.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
