Used TyroneShoelaces picture to locate this benchmark.

I stuck out trying to find a cache in Bedford Reservation, so at least I felt a little better after finding this benchmark on my way back home. The recent rain made it very mucky in here, I did my best to clean it up with my hand to get a good picture.

While attending the nearby "15 Years of Geocaching" event, flaglady, Beafrog and I came out to find this benchmark. Snapped a picture of it with the NCEES trackable tag that I brought with me to the event.

Found it while caching! yay, my first benchmark!

Found in good shape today while I was out caching.

Greetings from Grand Rapids, MI!

This one was highly recommended to me as I was doing the cache in the immediate area. Grabbed a photo of all of the water in here frozen.

Two for the price of one today!!!

All right, all right. Guess I'll finally log a benchmark seeing how a geocache was hidden right on top of it. Thanks Rich for pointing this one out. the hiking viking

The mark is in good condition at N 41° 23.684 W 081° 32.370. The 2-story house is gone.

Yep, found this benchmark while hunting a nearby geocache container. The benchmark is in good shape and the monument box is also in good shape and covered with a round metal cover. The monument box is set in a concrete sidewalk near the bank and car lot on the west side of the street. The benchmark inside is approximately six inches below the monument box cover

Finally came across a logable benchmark while doing the nearby geocache -- woohoo!

Yep. Located this benchmark when doing the nearby geocache.

Found this benchmark on Christmas day while out geocaching in the area. The disk is in good shape, set in concrete in a round container built right into the sidewalk on the west side of the street between the bank and the car lot. The container is covered with a heavy round metal plate, and the disk sits about six to eight inches below the surface of the sidewalk.

Found it while grabbing the In GPS we trust cache.

My first!!
Thanks Team RAGAR

Found while Geocaching.

This is the first benchmark I've seen placed in this manner.

Very cool...and it made for a great container for a cache. Very surprised to see this one how it was placed.

Found it with Steve (Just a couple of Nuts)

Yes it does!!!! I was looking at some topo maps of the area a few weeks ago and was wanting to get around to finding some of these.

... and it makes a neat geocache hide.

My GPS zeroed out on the wrong side of the street. The two story house is long gone. The mark is intact and in good condition. Broadway runs North and South this marker is in the sidewalk on the west side of the street inside of an unmarked round container. It is north of Utility Pole # 534849, just south of the National City Bank. I dont know what they were thinking when they wrote the 1983 description.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
